The Juggler – Volume 2
The heat of summer is on! When we were girls growing up is Southern California, summer was about long days at the beach (we wish we had used more sun block!) Now it’s about bringing LightFull to the world, squeezing in a hike or yoga class when we can, and still trying to make it to weddings, baby showers and birthdays. While sometimes it feels like life is speeding by, we wouldn’t have it any other way, and the feedback we get from you all makes it all worthwhile. So indulge us by taking a quick break to peruse this short newsletter. You’ll meet Susi Watson (the latest LightFull Lady), learn about WriteGirl and check out a great new recipe (shamelessly starring our LightFull Smoothies) that’ll keep you cool, while looking and feeling hot as ever.
In Good Health,
Lara and Lynn

Thanks to our kick butt western region sales manager B. Robyn Kinstle (a.k.a. “Buffy the High Calorie Slayer) and her team, LightFull can be found in Whole Foods Market Southern California, Clark’s Nutrition Centers, Mother’s Markets and in a host of independent stores. In New England, you can find LightFull at more than 125 Hannaford stores. For those of you with friends and family in these new LightFull communities, be sure to enLightFull them (ouch, we know…). Find the closest location by visiting our store finder. |
She’s an architect, an artist, a mom, a wife, an athlete, a graphic designer AND an exhibit planner. Any one of those sounds like a full time job to us, so it is no surprise that Susi says her biggest challenge is in prioritizing every day. Read here to find out how she does it and what she does for inspiration. |
It’s no secret that working long hours takes its toll on us all. It’s hard to find time to eat right and exercise when you are burning the midnight oil. But researchers at Leeds University found that women are harder on themselves than their male counterparts – not good. So when those deadlines draw close, recommit yourself to eating right (keeping LightFull Smoothies handy will make it easy) and squeeze in a work out, even if it means just a quick 15-minute walk outside. Your body will thank you for it!

Since we all wish we had more time to give back to our communities, we decided to try to help you out by asking what charities you want us to support, and then teaming up with them. The first person to chime in was Shauna Smith, who has been volunteering with WriteGirl for 3 years. WriteGirl is a nonprofit that empowers inner city high school girls in Los Angeles though creative writing and self-expression. LightFull provided free smoothies during the June 24 WriteGirl Silent Auction fundraiser held at the Writer’s Guild of America Theater and at the organization’s upcoming 2-day retreat in August. We’re also supporting WriteGirl with our “Get A Little, Give A Little” program. Purchase your next LightFull with this coupon and you’ll get $.10 off your purchase and we’ll give WriteGirl 10% of revenue. |
For more info about community events, check out our new events page! To let us know about a community event that you want us to support, email us at info@LightFullFoods.com.
Here’s a recipe suggested to us by our friend and advisor Jaleh Daie. All you need is a popsicle or an ice cube tray…
The raves keep rolling in! We’d love to share them all with you, but here’s this month’s favorite, from Karen Turner of Oswego, NY.
"Great product! I happened to come by it at Wegmans and wow - I am impressed. I have just found the perfect after-exercise snack that helps me recover and keeps me satisfied. Now that I am a mom and trying to balance it all (and look after myself at the same time) it helps that I can get my workout done, grab this healthy snack to recover and then go back to being a mom and have the energy to do it!"
